St Annes Old Links Golf Club

St Annes Old Links occupies a natural strip of linksland in Lytham St Annes, where rolling dunes, firm fairways and exposed coastal conditions create a traditional seaside setting. Founded in 1901, the club was established on land previously used by the original Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, with George Lowe and later Sandy Herd contributing to the course’s development.

The layout moves through a mixture of open linksland and dune-covered ground, with natural slopes and strategically placed bunkers shaping the approaches. The compact greens and changing wind make distance control particularly important, while several holes feature blind or partially hidden approaches through the dunes. With a long association with Open qualifying and championship golf, St Annes Old Links offers a classic north-west links experience with a distinctly traditional atmosphere.
